In today’s times, finance undoubtedly rules when it comes to the purchase of original paintings.
As the Managing Editor of Art Mango Publishing, Alain L’hérisson believes that those who cannot permit themselves the luxury of affording original paintings, can enjoy a true representation of a painter’s work through the purchase of affordable reproductions.

With client bases in the United States, United Kingdom, and Sweden, L’hérisson has developed a quality line of calendars, posters, and lithographs based on culturally deep-rooted subjects such as the art of pure Torromachi and those of Arlésiennes images indigenous to Arles.

While representing painters of Southern regional areas of France such as Le Grau du Roi, Aigues-Mortes, La Grande Motte, and Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, L’hérisson selects painters who are most spirited in their craft. The modern works of William Michel, Didier Combes, Juan Bénito, Frederic Roman, Michel Tomberau, and Christiane Jarras, are those of whom exhibit  a ‘Feria’ ambiance or that of ‘Arlésiennes’ tradition.

Says L’hérisson, “I allow the painter to express himself. To research his subject matter and color usage. Then we can evaluate what works best with respect to the sales of reproduction posters. I am the intermediate between the artist and the buyer. Therefore, I can influence the artist if they wish... in order to better service the clients and the demand. There is a certain taste and style that comes with this job, and being able to recognize the value of the artist's work is important.”

Planning such publishing projects is a careful process, and the works of painters can take up to a year until they can be brought forth to the public market. Such exposure and affordable accessibility permits painters to be seen on a larger scale. It’s a way for everyone to appreciate the artist and their craft.
